"I was burglarized... would you like to buy some of my art‏?"

On Friday night a dear friend of mine's house was broken into. Thousands of dollars worth of computers and electronics, including all of his camera equipment, was stolen. In attempt to re-coop some of his losses, he is selling his latest artwork at a discounted price. The Natives by Joshua Marowitz have been exhibited as part of a group show at 3rd Street Gallery, and as a solo show at The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education. I have seen this work in person and believe me, the jpgs, tho lovely, do not do them justice. These hand made salt prints seem to capture the botanicals in time, holding them with a warm, delicate touch.

Sketch 15 . Rabids

The Plan B Art Party turned out to be a great time. Bookspace is certainly not your typical place to view artwork. Previously an ice cream factory, it's a huge building filled to the brim with books and miscellaneous odds and ends. There is so much to look at that it's a bit of sensory overload at first, but throw in some live music and a bunch of artists' work and you have a party - and plenty of intersting things to gander at as the night goes on.

Happy Birthday to My Boys

Its been quite an exciting couple of days! Yesterday I picked up the keys to my first studio space. I can't wait to get in there and start getting paint everywhere! Right after, I headed to Bookspace to hang some of my work for inclusion in tonight's Plan B Art Party. With artists, dj's and who knows what else, chipping in last minute to make this event happen - I an anxious to see what comes of it.

Last but not least, I got to say happy 16th birthday to Dorito and Oscar this morning. Eleven months ago Oscar was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. He was dreadfully sick and I did not think he would live another year. But with a new daily routine of food, fluids, meds, and love, he remains happy and stable today. Happy Birthday to my buds!
